I was so flattered when my friend Powerpaola sent me this comic strip that she drew for colombian magazine "Revista Arcadia". It features her, Ruli Moretti and me reading "Just kids" by Patti Smith coincidentally at the same time during our stay at the residency of São Joao in Brazil.

""Who still believes in the original?"" Berlin "con artists" will fake important works of art which we will present and subsequently auction off in an exclusive exhibition / auction event.
In an exhibition that will finish after only 28.800 seconds, artists from Berlin will show their versions of famous art objects which will then be flogged to the highest bidder. All proceeds of the auction go towards organising a festival installation (or is it an installation festival?) named You Are Here aka The Maze (scheduled to take place in September 2012) and to the artists involved in the auction.
Participating artists are Jim Avignon, Diego Castro, Mett Eagle, Stefan Fähler, Chrigel Farner, Martina Hoffmann, Claudia Immig, Marion Jdanoff, KRAPOOLA, Kristof Maria Künssler, Stephan Laackman, Itty Minchesta (AtomicTitCorportation), Katharina Nesterova, Anne Paschvoß, Stephanie Piehl, Maximilian Rödel, Lisa Tiemann and Wilmar.

Title design and graphics for "Yangon Calling", a documentary about Punk in Myanmar/Burma by Alexander Dluzak and Carsten Piefke.
YANGON CALLING - PUNK IN MYANMAR
Music documentary / Berlin 2012
By Alexander Dluzak and Carsten Piefke
Punk in Myanmar – that is a provocation itself. After all, here in the former military dictatorship the probably most rebellious of all subcultures faces one of the world’s most authoritarian regimes. For young Burmese, punk is a way to stand up against a hated government. In their songs, they criticize the appalling living conditions in Myanmar and call for freedom and human rights. In the 90's, sailors brought the first punk rock cassettes into the isolated country. Since then a scene with several hundred followers has emerged in Yangon.
The film "Yangon Calling" introduces the main protagonists of the punk rock scene and shows their life in Myanmars's underground. During six weeks, the filmmakers Alexander Dluzak and Carsten Piefke filmed secretly and without authorization in Yangon, using small cameras. They accompanied the punks to their homes and met their friends and families. They went along with them to work in the tailor shop and tattoo studio, to rehearsal rooms and secret illegal concerts. They spoke with punks who had sat in jail during the military dictatorship and saw them fight their frustration with heroin.
Yangon Calling is a film about life in an authoritarian state, about personal tragedy and the struggle for freedom in a country where punk is still true rebellion.
